I Switched To Jekyll

Hey folks, I’ve been a bit silent on the blost front in the last little while and this is why. I have been making a new website, and a CSS framework for this website.

Why Jekyll?

Honestly, because why not. It seems like a fun thing to play with, I’m pretty happy with the workflow of it. Things are very quickly changing and that’s a good thing. It means I’m growing more comfortable with things, which is one of the reasons that I have a blog; to learn new things and try different things.

I have heard some good things about Jekyll and I have been growing a bit tired of the Javascript montrosity that is Eleventy, mostly because it’s Javascript.

Why Your Own CSS Framework?

Again, because why not. I have been using Readable CSS for years now, I do still love it, in fact OrbitalCSS is inspired by the aestheics of Readable but with my own twist.

I am still using Readable on this site as well, but every now and then I’ll be popping Orbital on so I can test and see how it looks.

I have progressed quite far with OrbitalCSS (this is a tempory name, until I can think of a nicer one) and I don’t think it’ll take too much more work to make it a nice CSS framework overall.

And that’s pretty much it, I don’t have much more to say right now, but it’s currently working. I’m enjoying myself and I’m also looking forward to working with it when I am not sat at my desk, which wasn’t where I was with 11ty.

BYEEEE!!!
