Moving To Hyprland
2 minutes read •
On November 12, so 3 days ago, I wrote a blost about my switch to Gnome, now I’m here to write about my switch to Hyprland. If things don’t work out here on Hyprland (like I am expecting as it is an alpha or beta software), Gnome is going to be my fallback. There’s just something about dynamic tiling that I love, I know I could get that in Gnome with an extension (and I very well may try that) or I could use COSMIC which is basically Gnome with a focus on the users.
I switched to Hyprland because it is by far the best tiling experience on Wayland, that I have experienced. The main reason is that I like to focus on one thing at once and if I want to have anything else open I most likely need it in addition to my current app so having it split automatically is brilliant. I have found the animations, the look and the dwindle layout of Hyprland has fit my workflow the best.
After starting writing this post, I feel the urge to go back to Gnome and try a tiling extension as I was thoroughly enjoying my time on Gnome.
Hope you enjoyed, I’m tired, so I’m going to leave it there :) Have a good one.
